A Lesson Learned Long Ago

The purpose of this blog response is to learn about a funny incident that happened to an adult during childhood and that taught some kind of lesson. Another purpose is to learn that adults did some funny things when they were young too.

What you will do:

  1. You must interview an adult, preferably a relative, about a funny incident that occurred when they were young and that taught them a lesson. It might be helpful for you to write a few notes while you interview the adult.
  2. You will post a comment which reports the information you discovered from your interview: Paragraph 1 should contain the following information: a. who you are writing about (is the person related to you?) b. when did the incident occur; how old was the person? c) what funny thing happened? d) where the incident occurred. Paragraph 2 should contain the following: a) how a lesson was learned; why the person remembers this story after such a long time. Paragragh 3 should contain the following: a) tell how the person felt at the time it happened, and how the person feels about it now. b) Tell how you felt when this person told you this story. Were you surprised? Was it funny? c) reread the first sentence of your first paragraph. Think of a good concluding sentence that relates to it. Let the reader know that you are now done.

My story is about Miguel, and what happen to him. Miguel is the oldest in the family. His story was about when he was in High School. When everything occurred, he was a 18 in Santa Maria School and almost graduating. He was a student of grades and a serious guy, didn't talk to no one. One day he was walking home from school and he saw his friends, so he decides to walk with them, but he didn't know that his friends were trying to find a place where to smoke. He was with his friends all day and my parents thought he was in wrestling practice or in band. My brother decided to smoke weed with his friends and it was his first time doing that, so he was acting dumb and got caught by my parents because he called my dad saying I'm high haha and to pick him up.

His life lesson is to never smoke. Another lesson he learned was that to never hang out with the wrong people or get pressure to do something you don't want to. He remembers like if it was yesterday because he did it once and in that once he got caught by my dad.

When my brother got caught by my dad i was laughing because i still got to see him all blown. Now that i remind him about it he just laughs and tells me to shut up and he just laughs haha. Every time he tells me or hear it i laugh. I was kinda surprise when he got high because he looked like he was never going to do drugs. It was funny because i could picture he tripping out and saying dumb things haha. I guess that was my brother story of never doing drugs and getting caught.

Dear Ms. Quaid,
My the person that i had interviewed was my cousin. She had many experiences when she was younger. She was doing homework and her brother decided to mess with her. Her brothers pants had fallen when they where "fighting." This happened when she was around 12-13.
She said the thing that she had learned was that if you mess with some one that isn't in the mood many bad things will happen.
She felt that she was doing something bad but in the end her brother told her not to worry. She has many things that remind her of this day it is some thing that she will not forget. She has had many similar experiences to this.
Sincerely,
Luis Diamanos

The person I'm writing about is my dad and his story is about when he was around 8 or 9 years old. It
started out with him being bored that day and since the house he lived in was located next to a downward hill he decided he was going to play there even though his mom had told him not to because he could fall. Well he started playing and as we was running around he lost ground and fell which caused him to roll down the hill and his fall was not pretty at all. He ended bruised and scratched because of the rocks and bushes he landed on. When he got home he says that his mom didn't say anything other then I told you so.

He says that out of his hilarious accident he actually learned a lesson. The lesson he learned was that listening to someone that actually knows more then you is better then figuring things out for yourself in a bad and hurtful way. He told me that he still remembers the accident after so long because of all the times he had fallen or had an accident none of them had hurt as bad as this one. He also remembers because every time he talks to his mom she reminds him of how he rolled down the hill.

When he was small he says that he had thought that him falling had been maybe someone elses fault instead of reconising that it had been his for not listening. He now thinks that his decision of playing by that hill had been a really dumb desision. When I was hearing him tell his story I found it really funny. I found It funny because when I was smaller the same thing had happend to me and my grandma had told me "you had to be just like your dad". At that time I didnt understand what she meant but after I heard this story found out y she said that. Now you see maybe listening can help u avoid a painful situation.

well i interviewed my step-dad. the story he told me happened when he was a little boy and he was leaving with his mom. he says that one day he was hungry and his mom had made a pot of beans, then he told me that his mom told him to watch over the beans and that she was going to be back in a bit. she had left to the store and since he was hungry, he started eating the beans.

Then his mom was getting home and she asked who ate the beans and he said it wasn't him and blamed his brother. then his mom grabbed a small thin branch out of a three and asked him again. then she asked him to wipe his face, he had bean soup on his face haha! and then his mom started chasing him and hitting him hahaha!

he still remembers this because he learned that time to be more careful and to not lie and to wait for others too. he said that he was a trouble maker , but was scared of consequences , also that he got spanked good. i think that he never ate food when he didnt have to again.

I am going to write about a lesson that my mother taught me. The incident occurred a very long time ago when she was younger and still lived in mexico. What had happened was that she accidentally killed a chicken why cutting grass to feed the chickens. This had happened in at my grandparents house where my mother lived at the time.
I learned from her mistakes that you need to focus on what you are doing now for later and not ruin what will happen later by doing something now. My mother has always remembered that incident because she felt really sorry for my grandmother. At the time they were all laughing about it and having fun because they at least had something to eat afterwards.

My story is about my grandfather Pete. As a kid my grandfather was into the little toy solders you'd buy almost anywhere. As soon as he turned 18 my grandfather joined the navy. Now, my grandfather always loved the navy branch more than army, marines, and all that good stuff, so as a child he would make the toy solders fall onto the carpet aka the water. It was the first week on his new home the USS Vandergrift that he met a fellow sailor. This man was hurt, one arm was gone, the other in a sling,my Grandfather unknowingly asked the wounded man for a hand, he turned around and saw the man who then laughed and took what my grandfather said as a joke. That day my grandfather learned one of the corniest but one of the most important life lessons. Do not judge a book by its cover. My grandfather thought that the man would become angry, but besides his misfortunes in war the man was still very much optimistic.

I interview my friend James and his brother john. James was always beaten up by his older brother and now they are best friends. This taught James that you should always forgive your family, no matter what they do, you'll always love them. John learned that your family is the most important thing in to him. He learned that his brother always was his best friend and that he always was and always will be for him.

My story is about my cousin Yvette. Her incident occurred when she was 17 while on the SMAT transit bus. After a long day of school Yvette was taking the SMAT bus home. As she was getting on the bus she was on the phone and missed a step to get on to the bus and hit face first. Everyone in the bus was laughing because her slippers had fell of while she fell and hit her face.

So then the next day she didn't want to go to school, but she stuck it out and went. Her lesson was that to never be texting while entering a bus.Other things she learned was to beware of your surroundings and to not multitask if you're not good at it. When she looks back at the incident that happened that day she always laughs about it.

Dear Ms. Quid,
My story is about my younger sister Lydia. When she was about four years old she we lived on VAFB and we had a huge hill in out backyard. She had a fisher price toy car and she rolled it up a hill, got in, and "drove it" down the hill. The car flipped giving her a black eye.

She learned to cautious on what you use going down a hill because it could backfire on you. She remembers it because it is one of the few times she didn't listen to my parents while playing around.

Lydia was embarrassed and in pain at the time but now she laughs and says she was stupid back then. I was not surprised when she told me this because I knew what had happened since we always bringit up when we are talking about my sister. This was my sister's epic fail story.

My story is about my uncle Juan. The accident happened when he moved to Santa Maria and he was 22years old. His story was about when he got lost in Santa Maria.

One day was driving to a store and he didn’t know the driving rules. When he was coming back to his house, he didn’t remember the street of his house, and when he remembered he got to his house 6 hours later.

The lesson he learned was that he needed to know the driving rules because it is dangerous. The other lesson is to know the city before you leave your house and drive. He remembers that because it was the first time he was lost.
My uncle Juan never drives in new places. It was funny to me, when he was telling me the story. I was surprised that happened to him. I think the story is funny but also worrisome.

I am writing bout my sister Yesenia's incident. This incident happened when my sister was ten years old approximately 12 years ago. My sister and my cousin were sitting in the car waiting for my aunt while she went inside to get something. While waiting for my aunt she was curious about the cigarette lighter that comes inside the cars and what it was. So she pushed it in and it eventually became hot. My aunt was taking her sweet time inside the house and then my sister pulled down the cigarette lighter and put her finger on top. She let it go fast and yelled when it burned her finger. When my aunt finally got there she said " it smelled like burnt meat" and my sister was sitting there really quiet. My aunt asked her what happened and she said she got burned. She showed her the burnt thumb and told her she was taking her to the doctor.

Her lesson she learned was not to be playing with things she didn't know what they were meant for. She remembers this story because she got burnt and she shouldn't be nosy.

She said she felt a lot of pain and regretted playing with the lighter. Now she recalls how she was so nosy and thinks it was funny now because my aunt said it smelled like meat. I thought this was funny because my sister was being curious of what the car lighter would do and learned the hard way. No I wasn't surprised because it sounds like something my sister would do and I thought it was funny. My sisters story was about when she burned her finger.

I interviewed with my big brother, Moises, about a funny incident that has occurred in his life. It happened during 2003 When he was around eight years old. He went walking around and ended up nearly four miles away from a new home we have just moved into. He found his way to the Town Center Mall and was completely lost.

My brother says he remembers this story because during this time some police started talking to him and asking for his parents. He wanted to cry because they wouldn't leave him alone. The lesson he says he learned was to not show your weakness to people that are questioning you. That is because when they took him into their car to take him home he felt like a criminal and was afraid to see the parents.

My brother said that he felt so scared of what would happen and why these people didn't want to leave him alone. He was frightened and alone with no familiar face to rely on. He thinks it was pretty funny 12 years later when he sits down and reminiscences about it. I thought the humorous story was well worth listening to. Though its funnier when told in person. It's not a very surprising story considering I already knew the kind of joker he is. Well, that about sums up my interview with my big brother thanks for reading.

I am writing about Lisa, my mom. It happened when she was 19, in 1995 at the Green Village Apartments in Santa Maria, CA. Lisa was running around the house and hit her head on the glass sliding door because she didn't realize it had one.

She learned to be careful when using windex and learned not to run and be more attentive and alert on where she is going. She remembered it because there was pain involved.

She felt pain at that time because that really hurts and right now she laughs about it. She feels embarrassed and dumb. I laugh about it too.It is funny, real funny. Haha. She also has many other funny stories but this is just one of many.

My story is about a man who is not related to me but still interviewed him. His name is Mr. Ekberg. His funny incident happened when he was 19 years old in Vegas of 1993. Well he had been on a 3 week trip at Vegas eating fast food like McDonalds and decided to eat something fancier and better. On his last night he decided to spend more money to eat and went to the Mirage Casino Buffet which was one or two blocks away from hos hotel. At the casino he spotted a huge tower of free shrimp cocktail. He ate, and he ate and stopped when he had to pay on his sixth round. As he was walking around he started getting an upset stomach and wasn’t feeling so good so he decided to head back to the hotel. As he was heading out the casino he realized he needed to get to a restroom and fast because it was getting worse. He was making his way down the street and soon he had to start clinching his butt cheeks together because he couldn’t hold it anymore. When he got to his toilet everything just came out and said it was the worst pain ever, like he was giving birth. It was the worst dump he ever took.

His lesson he learned was not to over eat shrimp cocktail at the casino buffet. It’s okay to have some but do not overdo it. He said he remembers it after such a long time because it was the worst pain he ever felt taking a dump, like giving birth.

At the time the pain was horrible and now he is glad that he learned that lesson early in life so he can avoid it later in the future. I think it would have been embarrassing to clinch your butt cheeks together and walk back to your hotel. At the same time it was pretty funny because I couldn’t stop laughing. The funny incident accorded when Mr. Ekberg was 19 years old and he was on a 3 week trip in Vegas on 1993.

I Interviewed my Uncle David. The incident occurred when he was like in his 20's. He was playing soccer and he went to hit the ball with his chest so he just stuck out his chest and the fast ball hit him and took his breath out. the incident happened when he was in Mexico.

He learned his lesson when he breath was taken away from the ball. He Remembers this because that was the most embarrassing thing that has happened to him.

When this happened he felt like he wanted to cry but now he laughs about it. When he told me the story I started to laugh because it was funny. I wasn't really surprised about it. The story was very funny.

When I asked my uncle about something embarrassing thing that has happened to him he told me his funny story.

My story is about my friend Osiel. He is one of my good and closest friends. Osiel use to be a student here in SMHS graduated 2013. Well the story is about how he thought life was going to be easy and that he will be able to keep on doing what he does and just live day by day with no worries. Boy was he wrong he cant even get a job, he can but not with the drugs in his system, jobs don't want him and think he is no capable of anything. Now he is struggling to pay his rent, his mom don't want him their no more unless he gives her money for rent because all he does is smoke pot and hangout with his friends.

His life lesson was to really focus on what you do and make plans.Don't expect everything in life to be easy, sometimes even though you don't want to admit it friends are sometimes a bad example or influence. You just got to learn to admit it and see what you doing wrong so you can fix it and accomplish your goals. He remembers this story because he always gets flashbacks on how and what he was going threw, and now that he is doing good he doesn't want to go back to his own ways and throw everything he accomplished away for something that is mot worth it. I wasn't really surprised when he told me because I would see how he was and who he has now become.

The person i interviewed was my older sister. The story she told me was about the way she had a pretty bad fall from the stairs where we use to live. This happened to her when she was about 5 years old. My sister would always love to play by the stairs, she would always be running around leaving her toys on the ground by the stairs. My mom would always tell her to be careful because one day she would end up stepping on her toys and she would end up falling. Since my sister was very small she really didn't listen. One day she was running around when she suddenly stepped on one of her toys, that's when she went rolling down the stairs. When my mom ran to see what had happened she found my sister laying down on the floor crying.

My sisters life lesson was to always listen to what my mother had to say but most importantly to never leave her toys on the ground while trying to run around near the stairs. The first time my sister told me this i found it pretty scary due to the fact that she seemed serious because something could have happened to her. Now that we look back at it we pretty much laugh it off. She still remembers this because she now has a kid, and now that she thinks about it she wouldn't want the same thing happening to her kid so now she makes sure her kid does exactly what she tells him to do for his own safety. All in all, my sister had to experience something bad during her childhood to learn that she should always listen to what my mom had to tell her, and due to the fact that she went through that she is now more aware of the dangers her son can face.

The person I interviewed was my dad. He told me that back in the day when he was in grade school he made a funny mistake. His family was moving and he was supposed to wait at his school so my grand parents could pick him up, he didn't see them there so he went to the trailer park where they just moved from but he didn't know that they moved the trailer. So when he didn't see the trailer he walked from the trailer which is the one behind pep boys today and walked across town to my great grandmas house.

By the time he got to my great grandmas house his mom had already called the cops. When he first got there he felt accomplished but shortly after he was severely disciplined because he did mot listen to my grandma and did not stay at the school like he was supposed to. My dad told me that there are reasons that people are told what to do and there is always consequences.

My dad had told me that he felt good that he could walk all the way across town by himself, then he felt pain and regret. The way I feel about this is that I now know to always listen what your parents tell you what to do, and amazed that a little kid in grade school decided to walk all the way across Santa Maria by himself. Well this is the story that my dad had told me.

My story is about my Uncle and what happened to him. This happened when my Uncle is their nursery year. My Uncle was four or five years old then. After the flag ceremony, my Uncle proceed to seat down at once not minding his line is slow manner. My Uncles aunt who's fetching my Uncle noticed that he didn't walked naturally. After a while, my Uncle cried. My Uncles aunt approached him fast and found out that my Uncles shorts were teared apart between legs.

My Uncle remembered this story because this experience of him taught him to always wear an inner wear. And this experience made him conscious. He now always checks everything before wearing them.

My Uncle felt so embarrassed that time. Now, when he remembers about it, he just burst in laughter. When I heard the story I also laughed. Also when that happen to me I also feel embarrass. My Uncles story surprise me because I didn't thought this happened to him in his nursery years.

My story is about my cousin, what happened to him and what he learned from it. What happened to him was that when he was little, he will go with his dad to work. His dad told he to not go to the barn that was next to they work at. He said " its a barn was can go wrong by just looking inside the barn." He walk to the barn and look in and saw a old truck and walk in to see it better and the owner show up next to him and told him was are you doing here and my cousin got so scare that he pee himself.

My cousin remembered that story because its taught him to never go to private property without permission. And they gave his a nickname but he didn't want to me want it was. Now he know when someone said to never go there, he will listen and not go there.

He was so embarrassed when its happened. Now, he just laugh at it but don't said want the nickname is. His dad, my uncle, was going to tell me but my cousin stop him from saying it. My cousin story surprise me because he is a outgoing, funny, and look like a person who don't get scary by someone show up next to you.

The person I interviewed was my older cousin. He told me about the day he ditched school with my other cousin Ramiro. The thing that happened was they were planning to do a BBQ with there friends and they couldn't find matches to light up the BBQ pit so they found a spray can that had gasoline in it so the fire lighted up high and burned some of there hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and mustache.

He remembered this story because he thought it was very funny. His lesson was that not to play with fire at all.

The time that my cousin did he felt that he was a cool but he wasn't. He feels now he did a big mistake of doing that. When he was telling me about his story I wasn't really surprised because he would do dumb things when he was in High School. I also thought it was funny when he was telling me.

A person I interview was my grandma. She was seventeen years old when this happened to her. She said that one day her, her younger sister and her older brother would always be bored at home. And this one day they planned to sneak out of the house while their parents were sleeping so they can go to a dance in town. It was a dance at the fair and they wanted to go so bad but their parents didn't let them go when they had asked. That's why they sneaked out. so then my grandma and them left late around 10:30 in the night and they left to the fair. After a while of being there my grandma's dad and mom showed up and took them home. I guess someone had told their parents they had seen them at the dance. My grandma got slapped in front of everyone who was at the fair. She said that was the most embarrassing day of her life.

The three of them learned to not leave the house at night without permission because something like that can happen again. She said she will never forget that day because she got the biggest slap of her life by her dad. But now that she thinks about it it's funny to her. My grandma said she doesn't regret leaving that day because she had a blast and that's the day she met her husband.

She said she felt happy but at the same time sad because she had lied to her parents. When she was telling me the story I was just laughing because I can't picture my grandma doing such a thing. That was the story of my grandma's best memory of her life as a teen. The best day of her teen years.

My story is about my sister. This incident happened about 11 years ago and my sister was about 10 years old. The funny thing that happened was that my family had just moved to new apartments and my brother was going to go for the mail. My sister wanted to go to so she followed him, he didn't want her to go so he ditched her. He then started running and actually ditched her. She got lost and started to panic because she couldn't find her way back home. Finally we noticed that she wasn't back home yet, so he went to look for her and found her crying not to far away from our apartment. This incident happened here in Santa Maria.

She learned the lesson of not following someone in a place that she doesn't know because you'll get lost pretty quickly. My sister still remembers of this incident because of when we all get together and talk about our old apartments. She always remembers about how she got lost.

My sister felt sad at the time it happened. Now, when she remembers about it, she just starts cracking up because she cant believe how easily she got lost. When she told me about this story I just laugh over and over again at how he ditched her. I wasn't surprised that my brother would do that, and I found it extremely funny.

This story is about my uncle Mauro. Back when i was a little kid like 9 years old. My dad (pablo, his brother(Gabriel) and my moms brother(Mauro) were out drinking right after work. They were really drunk and out of nowhere they start arguing. My uncle Gabriel chungs his whole beer down and says you want a piece of his hitting his chest like a gorilla. They started getting down and my moms brother was on the ground my other uncle was punching and kicking him.
The lesson learned was when drinking (when you're old enough) not to get down over a stupid thing.

The person that I'm writing about is my uncle Edgar who by accident hit an old women in the face. Everything occur in Mexico when he was 18 years old which was in the year of 2008.

He was walking with his friends by the street close to his house. He went to the store while his friends were waiting for him outside. The store was full of people and he just wanted to buy a pack of gum so one man let him cut but didn't realized that there was an old women standing in front of him. So when he rushed over to where the man was, he accidentally hit the women in the face because she was too small. Everyone looked at him and he didn't know what to do so he just leave the store as fast as he could. He remember that day until now because he couldn't forget the old lady's face.

He felt embarrassed knowing that he hit that poor lady because she was old. He learned that before rushing to something, first he will always see what's in front of him.

My story is about my mom. This incident happened about 10 years ago when she was out partying with my dad and a few relatives. They were at Rancho Bowl and pretty much everyone was gone including her. she was walking out fine and then out of no where she stumbled and eats it hard on the floor as she lies down and laughs. My dad was busy laughing and not helping her out as he hesitated drunkenly to help her.
Her life lesson was to never party away from your house if you plan on having a great time because something may happen to you and end up regretting it the next morning.

My uncle, back in his high school years he was 17 years old. He went to play soccer at Alvin school. Restrooms were locked so he didn't have no where else to go. He couldn't hold it anymore and a incident of number two happen. Lesson learned go to the restroom before going to soccer practice. He remembered this memory because it was funny and embracing. During this time he didn't have no choice so he went for it and embarrassed him self at the park.

I interviewed my old pops. His story occurred in 2011 and he was around 40 years old when he wasn't on point. His story goes like this, it was a Wednesday when I had a doctors appointment. My dad knew I had this appointment. He realized that the car didn't have enough gas and decided to go pump some. My mom and I just waited for awhile and we realized it was almost time for my appointment. Time was passing by fast and my pops was lagging. I was ten mins late to my appointment that when we got there they charged my mom. It was just ten bucks.

They lagged at the doctors and I had soccer practice. After the doctors, I was late to practice and I didn't get to play.

My pops told me that his lesson there was to be organized and to be on point. Being on point will save you time and be more organized. Pa que vallan y digan.

The person that I interview was my father. The accident that happen was when my dad crossed the border. He was barely in his 20`s. The funny thing that happen to him was that he lost his shoes on the way. It happen in the desert of Arizona.

The lesson that he learned was that its not easy to travel by foot. he remember this because it was the first time he came to a new country.

He felt tired and worried because he thought he wasn't going to make it. he feels happy that he made it and has resident papers. It felt kind of interesting and sad at the same time. Those who ever try to cross the border are brave.

I interviewed my cousin Maria. The story is about the time her and her friends went to Santa Monica with her friend's car. On the way over there she was driving crazy and didn't care about the stress being put on the car. They get half ways and the car started to mess up. They stopped and rested for a little while and continued to go. When they almost got to the destination the car started to fail again and slow down. It wouldn't go more than 30 mph. She hoped that when she finished being in Santa Monica that the car would be fine. It worked at first and when they were 30 minutes into the freeway the car started to mess up again. She found out that there was something wrong with the exhaust pipe and it was slowing down the car. It took them six hours just to get back home.

Her life lesson is to always make sure that there isn't anything wrong with a car before you take it on a trip. Also to not drive really fast. She remembers it because on the way back it was hot and it was getting late fast. She also remembers it because they got home at 9 p.m. I thought the story was funny because they wanted to get home back in time and they didn't expect something like that to happen to them. She said she wanted to be home by 5 p.m

The story I will be writing about is about my dad. Yes this person related to me. This occurred around the time my dad was 12 years old. This incident happened in Mexico at my grandmothers ranch.

When my dad was 12 he would help care for the farm animals my grandmother had owned on her ranch. My dad was tired of taking care of some of the animals that he had to do as chores. So one day he decided he’d give away some of the animals for free to his friends. My dad remembers this for two reasons. The first is to never give away items that belong to your mom let alone animals. Second it reminds him of the funny and good times he had with his mom.

My dad at the time it happened felt relieved but then terrified when his mom found out. Now, he feels grateful it happened because it’s a good memory of his childhood. I wasn’t surprised when I heard this knowing my dad. This is one of many memories that my dad had living at the ranch.

My mother told that when she was in class trying to get her work done her phone started ringing and the lady's that work there were tell the whole class to turn of there cellphone and she was pretending that it was not her when it was her.
The phone kept ringing and the people there were getting mad. That's when she was trying to get her bag to turn it of and as she tried to rich she felt on the ground and turned all red and people were just staring at her. She said that she will never forget that day that everyone was staring at her. So she said I will never have my phone loud again and far from me, i thought that that was so funny because she's a really shy person so i could picture that and i started laughing and she got mad but i liked her story.

The person I am going to write about is my dad. This story happens when he was 13 years of age. When he lived in Mexico my grandpa told him not to go to the plaza with his friends. While he was over there he saw a van pull up next to his friend across the street and just take him. Him and his friends freaked out and ran to that persons house and told his parents all scared and they started to laugh. They said they borrowed the van from a family member that worked in a meat place and decided to teach their son a lesson. So they planned it out to scare him to follow their directions and staying home and not going to the plaza.

The lesson that he learned was to obey my grandma and grandpa. That anything can happen when he leaves the house and they should know where he is headed. My dad remembers this story for this long because in Jiquilpan where my dad used to live in Mexico they are kidnapping random people and asking for ransoms. Mostly all the people that they kidnapped did not tell people where they were headed so their parents or family members think that they are just mad or wanted to leave.

My dad was frightened when it happened, but now he looks back and laughs at what happened but also is thankful for learning that lesson because you never know what can happen leaving out that door. When my dad told me this at first I was like anxious to know what happened until he started laughing and then that when I found out the rest of the story and for me it was funny. For me it is important to tell my parents where I am headed because you aren't guaranteed each day that you'll walk through your house doors every day.

Life lessons can come in many ways and for Mr. Wiemen his life lesson on a winter afternoon. His life lesson was when he took his parents car without permission unfortunately for him he did not get far do to he hit his neighbors car trying to pull out the drive way. Being 16 at the time he was very scared and worried about what would happen to him.

Young Wiemen still remembers this indecent because to him it was very embarrassing at the time. What he learned that day to be more cautions of your surroundings and also ask your parents if you could use something that belongs to them.

Mr. Wiemen felt really bad about this indecent at the time but not that he looks bad he could laugh about it because he knows that what he did was dangerous but from this it got him to drive responsible at the same time. I actually really surprised to do the fact that i would have never have thought Mr. Wiemen would ever do something like this. The reason for this is because he would give us DMV questions in his class. This goes to show maybe some people try to show you what want to do before you ever get into a situation where you might not think things out.

My story is about Silvia Perez, she is my mother. My mom always had to watch her younger sisters and clean the house because my grandma was a single mother and worked all the time. My grandma never let any of her kids go outside to play out late because of the animals out but my mom felt like it would be good for the girls to go play in the yard and catch lizards or other animals just for a little while. My mom lived in a ranch so she didn't feel like it would be dangerous to let every play in the back. My mom was in charged of her four sisters at the time and she was the oldest. They were out for two hours before my mom started to hear the coyotes. My mom's youngest sister got scared but my mom told her "if you cry they will hear you, you need to be as quick as you can so we can go home." They ran home and my grandma was inside the house waiting for them laughing but disappointed. My grandma ask her friend to let her dogs loose in the ranch to scare of the girls and my mom got a spanking. My mom and her sisters laugh about it now but my mom said she has never been more scared before.

My story is about Bill Goodrich. He is not related to me, but he is my dear friend and personal trainer. This incident occurred when he was in his army days, he was about probably in his late 20's or early 30's. The funny thing was that he was tricked into saying something you wouldn't want to say to a stranger when he thought it was something nice that whole time. It was at foreign country where he cannot say where exactly to not release information.
His lesson was learned was to never be to gullible to your own friends who are willing to fool you into doing things that are not necessarily for the good. He was tricked into saying "I liked the way your mother's ass moves when she walks" and the Korean guy immediately became furious and was ready to attack Bill until Bill's team came to settle down the situation to calm the young man that it was just a joke because Bill had no idea at all. Bill thought he was saying that he hope he has a nice day today.
Bill felt confused but now he feels that it was pretty funny. I felt that it was pretty hilarious when he told me that and I could not have stopped laughing for a good while. I was surprised and I thought it was pretty funny. Bill Goodrich has plenty of funny stories.

The person I interviewed was my Step Grandpa. He told me a story of when he was 9 and in school. He was in class and was talking to his buddies, and he made a comment that offended his teacher so he got sent up to the principles office he wasn’t worried at first. Then he walked in and they had a paddle in their hands, because back then it was ok to discipline the students in that way. Immediately he ran out of the office before they could catch him. He ran all the way home to his dad, 7 miles.

The lesson that he learned was that he should watch what he says around others and not to interrupt his teacher. He remembers this story because that was the first time he ever got in trouble and it was truly a scare tactic.

Back then he was scared but now that he looks back on it he laughs because he doesn’t know why he was so scared. I personally thought it was funny when he told me because he is now a really big guy and for him to be that scared is really surprising to me. The overall lesson here is to watch what you say there are consequences for your actions.
